After “England, England”, this is the second bookclub with Julian Barnes (I mean with a book of his, obviously, shame that…). I read this book in two days and am reading it again, as it is a beautiful study of what we remember; of memory and how it betrays us and how we betray it. Read it!

Also, this is the Christmas bookclub, which means that everybody is bringing something to eat or drink, where this ends up, who knows!

Wir haben von 14 bis 18 Uhr geöffnet!

I have only read one book by Rushdie up till now, the others are lurking around my bookshelf with this reproachful look “I’m such a classic and you are ignoring me and the fatwa and all that”, so here we go, it’s time to read another one!
Saleem Sinai is born at the stroke of midnight on August 15, 1947, the precise moment of India’s independence. A celeb child, he has telepathic powers and an uncanny sense of smell that allows him to sniff out dangers others cannot perceive.

Join the book club anytime (you don’t need to sign anywhere, not to worry!), we are always glad to make new acquaintances & you can buy the book in the shoppe with a 10% discount!
