Danish songwriter Jacob Faurholt has released 4 solo albums between 2005 – 2012, the latest “Dark Hours”, was released in Germany through Raw Onion Records in July. “Dark Hours” was well received and the English site Drowned In Sound wrote the following: “Jacob Faurholt instantly transports the listener to the sort of gothic Americana hinterland that has been populated by the likes of Will Oldham and Sparklehorse.”
Faurholt moved to Berlin in 2010, and has since played more than 50 shows in Germany. He has also played support jobs for Grizzly Bear, The Black Heart Procession, The Handsome Family, and fellow danes Efterklang. Faurholt is also active with his psych pop band Crystal Shipsss.

15/01/2013 – 21.00 – FREESHOW

‘My name is Karim Amir, and I am an Englishman born and bred, almost.’

Admittedly up till now I never read any of Kureishi’s novels, only saw ‘Intimacy’ and loved it. This quite well-known title of his we chosen to get away from the mother issues in this bookclub, haha!
On the cover it reads: “The hero of HK’s début novel is a dreamy teenager, of indeterminate sexual preference, who is desperate to escape the drear clutches of suburban South London and taste all the forbidden fruits which the 1970s seem to offer.”

Join the book club anytime (you don’t need to sign anywhere, not to worry!), we are always glad to make new acquaintances & you can buy the book in the shoppe with a 10% discount!
