After a fabulous gig night with “The Dropout Patrol” Jana at England, England in July, we had a little ride in the London cab next morning (sorry if the signs of too much wine consumption still show) and recorded two songs with a handheld camera (check out the blackcabsessions.com for our inspiration-giver there)! Hopefully there will be more gigs and more cab rides in the future and big thanks again to Jana for making this a fantastic start!

I did try reading this book, ten years ago maybe, but probably didn’t give it the time and attention it needs. An early 20th century classic by a woman whose portrait you won’t forget once you have seen it, a face so hauntingly beautiful (in my humble opinion anyway) that you just need to know what she was about. So let’s get reading “To the Lighthouse” and meet on 11th October to rave or moan about it – whatever you feel like. Everybody is welcome, this isn’t a closed circle!

8.30pm to 11.30pm  at England, England

If you are an early(ish) bird you can now savour a full English Breakfast on Sundays from 10am. Over the next few weeks we will add to our breakfast menu a few extras, like Jamie Oliver’s Granola on yoghurt and homemade buns.

Alright girls and boys, Mr Shandy is in da house – perfect for this sort of weather! Thanks to Michele from Beyond The Pond I’m an addict already, so don’t say I didn’t warn you! It compares to a German “Radler” for those of you who haven’t tried it yet and look how nice it blends in at the Elbe…

Everybody goes on holiday, so we thought we have a long break and read two books during that time! One is – because (nearly) all of us loved Jane Eyre – “Wide Sargasso Sea” by Jean Rhys, which deals with the madwoman in the attic, poor Bertha, in quite a different manner than good old Mr Rochester would have done or explained (but then he had short legs, really). The second one is “A Long Way Down” by Nick Hornby, finally a Hornby, because I have to admit I never read one… In stock, 10% discount as ususal and everybody welcome of course!
