Somebody envied me once for not having read this book yet and hence still having a life where this is ahead of me instead of past. So yes, I’m dragging it around with me now, from bed to bathtub (2 x total immersion so far) and back, being pretty much into it.

It’s a saga of huge proportions, spanning three generations with all the ingredients for drama. I’m not going to give away too much, it’s impossible anyway, just trust: it’s a good read!

Join the book club anytime (you don’t need to sign anywhere, not to worry!), we are always glad to make new acquaintances & you can buy the book in the shoppe with a 10% discount!

Two more days of Christmas frenzy, then we will actually enjoy some peace and quiet (as supposed)! The shoppe is full of gorgeous present ideas, the Christmas Cake is half gone and we look forward to seeing you this weekend. We are back on 2nd of January, have a relaxed two weeks all of you! Thanks for a great year „smile“-Emoticon

English, Irish and Scottish Christmas Songs at England, England! Join us for an evening with Suantraí, a Dresden based duo (Annette Thoma & Jacob Richter) – they play a fiddle, guitar and sing beautifully. Free show with a hat to go round! Start at 8pm.

A classic read for our Christmas bookclub, where mulled wine and nibbles (bring along if you like!) are usually of greater importance  than the actual book (just so you know)!

Tolkien wrote  and illustrated these letters to his children between 1920 and 1942, oh my, lucky children, no?!

We will have a newly wed couple celebrating their wedding at England, England tomorrow and therefore stay closed. Back on Sunday with breakfast!
